Introduction

Welcome to VIP Lab. at Soongsil University, South Korea. We are working on visual intelligence and its applications to automated systems. We cover a variety of issues in the field of image processing, computer vision & graphics, robotics, and machine learning. Our research can be applied to practical software and lab-to-real platforms such as autonomous vehicles, smart home & factory, medical applications, intelligent semiconductors, and any other AI systems.

• [2022.03] Dayoung Kil and Jun-yong Kim joined VIP Lab. as M.S. candidates.

• [2022.02] Jun-yong's two papers were accepted in the Journal of Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems.

• [2022.01] Dr. Deepak Ghimire joined VIP Lab. as a research professor.

• [2021.11] Jae-hoon presented his work in the 7th International Conference on Next Generation Computing.

• [2021.09] Jae-hoon Jang joined VIP Lab. as a M.S. candidate.

• [2020.09] Visual Intelligence and Platform (VIP) Lab. at Soongsil univ. was founded in 2020.

SSU VIP Lab. is looking for a strongly self-motivated graduate student to develop his/her career. We will schedule a short interview before applying. It is recommend that you first apply for an internship or undergraduate research program before applying to the graduate programs. 

Undergraduate Research Program

• [Paper selection] Given a set of top-tier conference papers, you first choose one topic of interest to you.

• [Preparation] For each semester & vacation, you will understand the selected papers (i.e., motivation, method, and contributions).

• [Presentation] You will present it in front of VIP members and discuss research ideas, implementation issues, future directions, etc.
